IQ Option review for traders in India

IQ Option takes a minimum deposit of $10 and lets you open a position from $1, with payouts advertised up to 95%. For an Indian trader the practical questions are how money moves in and out, what the CySEC licence does and does not cover here, and how the platform compares with the alternatives.

What IQ Option offers Indian traders

IQ Option runs its own web platform and Android and iOS apps. The minimum deposit is $10 and the smallest trade is $1, so the entry barrier is low by the standards of the fixed-time contract market. The maximum advertised payout is 95%, which sits above Stockity and Binomo at 90% but below Quotex at 98% and Deriv at 100%.

For an Indian user the platform itself is the same product that traders elsewhere see: a browser-based terminal, mobile apps, and a range of short-term contracts. The difference is in the payment layer. IQ Option does not publish an India-specific deposit page, so what works in practice depends on the payment partner your account is routed through.

The platform does not advertise rupee-denominated accounts. Deposits are typically converted from INR, which means your bank's foreign exchange rate and any international transaction fees apply on top of the amount you send.

Deposits and withdrawals from India

Indian traders usually fund accounts through one of four routes: UPI, bank transfer, cards, or USDT. UPI is how most deposits here are made, usually through a payment partner rather than the platform itself. Bank transfer means IMPS or NEFT from any Indian bank. Visa and Mastercard work subject to your bank's international transaction limit, and USDT, usually on TRC-20, is the route traders fall back on when a card is declined.

IQ Option's own published minimum deposit is $10. What the platform does not publish is a guaranteed withdrawal time for Indian users, and withdrawal speed depends heavily on the method you used to deposit. UPI and USDT tend to move faster than card refunds, but the platform does not state a fixed timeline.

Before you deposit, check what your bank charges for an international transaction. A $10 deposit can become $12 or more after conversion and fees, and the same applies in reverse when you withdraw.

Licensing and what it means in India

IQ Option holds CySEC licence 247/14, which is a European Economic Area licence. That is a real licence in a real register, and it is more than some competitors in this market can show. Quotex and Exnova, for example, have no licence found in any register we read.

What the CySEC licence does not do is authorise IQ Option to operate in India. The Reserve Bank of India licenses authorised persons dealing in foreign exchange and the electronic trading platforms they may use, under FEMA. Offshore forex platforms and fixed-time contracts are not something the RBI licenses.

In November 2025 the RBI updated its Alert List of entities not authorised to deal in foreign exchange under FEMA or to operate an electronic trading platform. The list held 95 entities as of 19.11.2025, and the RBI states the list is not exhaustive and that a resident trading outside permitted purposes or on an unauthorised platform is liable under FEMA. IQ Option is not named in our reference, but the RBI's position on offshore platforms is a standing one.

For an Indian trader, the practical takeaway is that the CySEC licence protects you in the EEA, not in India. If something goes wrong, you are not dealing with an Indian regulator.

How IQ Option compares with the alternatives

On the numbers, IQ Option sits in the middle of the pack. Its $10 minimum deposit matches Stockity, Quotex, Olymp Trade, Binomo, Expert Option and Exnova. Its $1 minimum trade is standard for this market. Its 95% maximum payout is above Stockity, Binomo and Exnova, level with Olymp Trade and Expert Option, and below Quotex at 98% and Deriv at 100%.

Deriv is the strongest comparison on licensing and payout. It lists three licences on record - MFSA 70156, Labuan FSA MB/18/0024 and VFSC company No. 14556 - and its maximum payout is 100%. It also offers MT5 and TradingView alongside its own platforms, which IQ Option does not.

Where IQ Option is weaker is on platform range. It offers only its own platform on Android, iOS and web. Pocket Option adds MT4 and MT5, and Deriv adds MT5 and TradingView. If you already trade on MetaTrader, IQ Option will not fit your workflow.

On warnings, IQ Option has none on record in our reference. Pocket Option carries FCA, Consob and CFTC warnings, and BinaryCent carries a VFSC notice of fraud, a CFTC red-list entry, an AMF blacklist entry and an FMA NZ warning. That is a meaningful difference, but it does not override the RBI's position on offshore platforms generally.

What to check before you sign up

Start with the payment route. If your bank blocks international card transactions, your realistic options are UPI through a payment partner or USDT on TRC-20. Both carry their own risks: UPI partners are not the platform itself, and USDT means holding a stablecoin, which adds a layer of counterparty and technical risk.

Second, understand the tax position. Profits from trading on an offshore platform are still income as far as the Income Tax Department is concerned. The platform will not withhold or report for you, so the reporting burden is yours.

Third, know where to go if something goes wrong. The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal is the Indian authority for online financial fraud. The RBI Alert List is the place to check whether a platform is flagged for unauthorised forex dealing. Neither is a substitute for a platform's own support, but both are the realistic recourse for an Indian resident.

  • Check the RBI Alert List before depositing
  • Confirm your bank's international transaction limit
  • Test a small withdrawal early, not after you have built a balance
  • Keep records of every deposit and withdrawal for tax filing

IQ Option is a functioning platform with a real EEA licence and competitive payout numbers. The question for an Indian trader is not whether the platform works, but whether the legal and payment structure around it works for you.
